HypnoBirthing® is a method of natural childbirth preparation that views birth as a celebration of life and family. Birth can be a rewarding and joyful experience for all those involved. The class properly prepares mothers physically, mentally and emotionally for birth. Mothers can feel more connected to her birthing instincts and her body by creating a state of calm and trust in her intuition. Partners will learn specific techniques to support mothers during the birth and become more informed about birthing options.
In this class you will learn: Self-hypnosis, breathing, massage, positions, and visualization techniques to prepare for labor and birth; Techniques to reach deep relaxation easily to reduce pain and fear; What is happening in your body during labor & birthing, so you can work with your birthing body; How fear affects labor and birth; Preparing your body and mind for birth; The importance of bonding and connecting to your baby; The birthing companion’s role and specific techniques to support mothers.
This 5 week series is taught by Kathy Woo, a (soon to be) Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Hypnotherapist & HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator. Kathy holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University. Kathy has been teaching HypnoBirthing since 2007 and was a birth doula for 7 years, attending over 100 births in hospitals, birth centers & home.
